HBCU MADE SCHOLARSHIP
The founder of Asubtle Reminder, Shakia Seabrook is a proud alumni of the Historically Black College and University ( HBCU ) Elizabeth City State University. She attributes many of her achievements to the support that she received while attending her HBCU. She states " Before attending Elizabeth City State University I was often deemed a " trouble student. It wasn't until attending my HBCU, that greatness was called out of me and I answered. Going on to graduate with the highest GPA in my major."

To pay homage to HBCU'S, Shakia created I AM HBCU MADE. A platform that raises awarenesses of the many trailblazers that HBCU's produce as well as raise money for HBCU students. In 2019, I AM HBCU MADE partnered with The United Negro College Fund Alumni Association. With the partnership, I AM HBCU MADE committed to raising $500 to donate to an HBCU student to help with financial educational hardships. The money was raised through the selling of an I AM HBCU MADE custom T-Shirt and button pack.
